MOEC Pty Ltd was formed in 2016 to meet the changing needs of the Water, Energy and Mining sectors to engage low-cost; fully-compliant contractors that do not compromise on safety and performance. Our objective is to be the leading construction and services contractor in the water, mining, and gas industries.

Our Management Team
James Curran
Founder and Managing Director
James is a forthright entrepreneur and co-founder of MOEC.
James studied Civil Engineering and upon completing his degree, has honed his expertise, as a Project Engineer at various esteemed companies and accumulated 20 years’ experience in the construction, mining and Gas sectors.
In 2016, fuelled by a desire to innovate and transform the Pipeline construction field, James co-founded MOEC.
James’s leadership is characterised by a unique blend of technical acumen, industry knowledge, and an avant-garde approach that continues to guide MOEC toward new heights.
Beyond his professional achievements, James remains dedicated to fostering positive change. His commitment to his heritage of country reflects a broader ethos that extends beyond the boardroom. A testament to his rich cultural background, James takes pride in his Indigenous heritage, weaving it into the fabric of his personal and professional life.
Ryan Moloney
Co-Founder and Project Manager
Ryan is an accomplished Civil Engineer and Project Manager who co-founded MOEC in 2016.
Ryan started his working career with Rio Tinto Alcan, focusing on the development and execution of large-scale expansion projects. However, he soon transitioned to the contractor side to gain hands-on, accountable experience. At the age of 26, he was thrown into the deep end as a Project Manager, overseeing a team of 60 on the QGC Kenya Water Treatment Plant Project.
Ryan boasts over 20 years of experience in the construction, resource, and gas sectors, with over 15 years as a Project Manager directly responsible for executing a range of construction projects. He has worked for clients such as QGC, FMG, Alcan, Rio Tinto, BHP, BMA, Arrow Energy, Molopo Energy, Eastern Star Gas, Westside Energy, Senex Energy, Ventia, Valmac, Laing O’Rourke, QHM Birt, and various others.
Throughout his career, Ryan has held numerous operational, technical, management, and director roles, managing and executing various projects. His experience spans both large-scale operations and smaller niche organizations. His contributions have showcased not only his technical proficiency but also his leadership and strategic vision. Ryan possesses a tenacious ability to push through barriers to ensure that projects are seen through to completion.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ryan Moloney is the proud father of three awesome boys and regularly volunteers and sponsors within his local community, including training the local soccer team.
